SEED: The three year strategy for Nguvu ya Uvira

For its upcoming strategic cycle, Nguvu ya Uvira will plant its SEED — a holistic approach to delivering deeper, more sustainable outcomes for the people of Uvira, intervening at each stage to save lives, build resilience, and prevent disaster.

The SEED strategy unfolds across four key phases:

  • Save lives with aid in moments of disaster, conflict, or crisis.

  • Establish stability, dignity, and core programme operations once the emergency passes.

  • Expand our reach by launching new initiatives and scaling up what works.

  • Develop our internal systems, staffing, and donor engagement for sustainable growth.

Together, these pillars form the foundation for a strategy that grows with the needs of Uvira’s communities — moving from short-term relief to long-term transformation.

This strategy will guide Nguvu ya Uvira’s evolution from a boutique, targeted initiative into a mid-sized, agile organisation able to respond holistically to crises and invest in their prevention.

Another key priority is to expand and professionalise our local team, equipping staff with leadership opportunities and transferable skills that uplift not only their careers but the wider community.
