Helping those displaced from war

ree

The Nguvu ya Uvira foundation is undertaking another ad-hoc humanitarian intervention, this time helping internally displaced people from Bukavu as a result of the conflict.

Forced to live in plastic-sheet lean-tos on the side of the road, the situation is dire. The foundation consulted those who have been displaced and their most pressing need they stated was clothing. "Despite the promises, until today there have been no organisations that have provided us with any support." says Alain, a man displaced from his home in Bukavu since February.

Swiftly, the foundation sourced some clothing, and was able to provide it to those in need.

The foundation is working with Congolese diaspora in Melbourne to raise funding for those displaced from their homes due to this conflict. A proposed budget for the project is below. Please donate if you would like to help!
